a99 VC makes early to late stage investments in Manufacturing and Infrastructure. The firm backs the IP, the components, the automation and the physical infrastructure that India's industrial decade needs. It has been building since 2020 and is SEBI-registered as a Category I and Category II AIF manager.

Investment philosophy

Every major economic transformation across the U.S., Europe, East Asia, China was anchored in manufacturing. India will be no different. At growth stage, manufacturing remains undercapitalized. Early capital hesitates: pre-revenue hardware, long build cycles, capex ahead of contracts. Late capital waits. It wants proven throughput, bankable offtake and clean unit economics. The gap between production scaling and system maturity is where long-term value is created. Four investment strategies: IP and R&D-driven manufacturing: proprietary design and IP disrupting import dependence through domestic R&D and in-house engineering. The shovel strategy: components and sub-systems that power India's manufacturing cycle. Industry 4.0 and 5.0: digital transformation of factories and infrastructure through automation, smart systems, IoT and embedded tech. Physical Infra AI: AI needs physical infrastructure and components to run, including compute hardware, power, cooling and precision parts.
