A Founder/Investor with over two decades of experience, as a tech entrepreneur and more recently as a Partner at Kalaari Capital for close to six years, evaluating deals and investing in companies like Deconstruct, AGRIM, Samosa Party, and others. That range brings a rare combination: knowing what it actually takes to build a company from 0-to-1 and 1-to-10, not just fund it. Before Kalaari, I was a hands-on deep tech founder: built Apalya, raised capital from marquee investors including Qualcomm, Cisco, IDG, and NEA, scaled the platform to 100M+ downloads, and ran a team of 250+ people. I'm drawn to founders with revolutionary ideas that challenge the status quo, deep domain expertise paired with bold technology that pushes real boundaries. I like being in the trenches with them: helping navigate the journey, making the right connects, being genuinely on their side.

Aviral brings 21 years of experience across engineering, product, global business and company building. He co-founded AUMHUM, a psychiatrist-led mental health platform building structured care for Tier 2 and Tier 3 India. Before that, he led global business and expansion at Peel in the San Francisco Bay Area, including partnerships with handset brands across China and India, and built the consumer business at Apalya Technologies, where he helped close its third funding round. He began his career as an engineer at Citrix and Pi Corp (acquired by EMC). Aviral holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT (BHU) Varanasi and an MBA from the Indian School of Business.
