Altacura AI Absolute Return Fund LLP (SEBI Reg. IN/AIF3/21-22/0934) is a Category III AIF managed by Alta Cura Technologies, an AI-driven boutique asset manager headquartered at 61, 2nd Floor, Panchkuian Road, New Delhi 110001. Registered in September 2021, it is Alta Cura's first SEBI AIF registration — predating the firm's second fund, Alta Cura Ai Trust (IN/AIF3/23-24/1418). The fund was founded by Raman Nagpal, a computer scientist and co-founder of Accuracap, the firm's affiliated long-only PMS/AIF platform managing $230M+ in Indian public equities. The Altacura AI Absolute Return Fund is the firm's flagship product, having won the Best AIF CAT 3 Pure Long Short award from PMS AIF World. It targets equity-like returns (15%+ gross) with a debt-plus risk profile, using proprietary AI and machine learning algorithms developed and refined over Accuracap's decade-plus operational history.

Investment philosophy

The Altacura AI Absolute Return Fund is built on the conviction that AI and machine learning can generate sustained, market-uncorrelated returns — earning equity-like upside while carrying a debt-plus risk profile. The portfolio is structured around four market-neutral trading buckets, executed via a long-short equity strategy that continuously learns from live market data. A significant portion of the fund is held in highly liquid, low-risk debt instruments (C1 bucket) serving as trading collateral, while the alpha is generated by the algorithmic overlay. The fund's founding principle is zero negative years: every calendar year should deliver positive absolute returns regardless of the direction of broader equity or debt markets. This framework draws directly from Accuracap's quantitative systems, which have outperformed the Indian equity market for over a decade, and have been re-engineered for the higher-frequency, market-neutral demands of the AIF structure.

He's had affiliations with major companies like Motorola, Apple, and Microsoft, and has founded and managed his own successful startups. He served on the boards of Adobe India and Mopria Global Alliance, overseeing one of Adobe's key global divisions. In 2009, he co-established Accuracap as a family office, utilizing cutting-edge algorithms to manage proprietary capital. Accuracap naturally evolved into a top-performing fund manager in India over the next decade.

She plays a key role in overall management of its business as well as supervision of day-to-day operations.

He has been a catalyst in start-up of many successful projects in the BPO, IT & Financial Services space. Some of the successful start-ups where he has played a role include Yatra online, RAC, Gulliver Travels, DMI Finance & Cisco Systems Capital. Sanjiv is responsible for the organization's strategic partnerships and business development efforts. He has played active role as strategic advisor on corporate governance, finance and regulatory issues.
