Canara Bank Venture Development Trust (IN/AIF2/15-16/0206) is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund registered in February 2016, managed by Canbank Venture Capital Fund Limited (CVCFL) — a wholly owned subsidiary of Canara Bank and one of India's earliest venture capital fund management companies. CVCFL was established in 1989 when Canara Bank set up the Canbank Venture Capital Fund as India's first bank-sponsored VC fund. Over 35 years, CVCFL has launched 6 direct venture capital funds with a total corpus of INR 790 crore and managed the Electronics Development Fund (EDF) — a Fund of Funds of INR 927 crore commissioned by MeitY, Government of India. Canara Bank Venture Development Trust is the AIF-era vehicle for CVCFL's direct fund activities, complemented by the Emergen Innovation Fund (EIF, INR 235 crore, 2019 vintage). Current active portfolio companies include CoRover (conversational AI), QubeHealth (employee health benefits fintech), Renalyx Health Systems (AI-based hemodialysis), Biddano (healthcare supply chain), Effigo (B2B SaaS procurement), and Koovers (B2B auto spare parts).
