Emmanuel Murray joined Caspian in November 2016, to lead our market development and institution-building efforts with a focus on the Food & Agriculture space. He manages the Caspian LeAF fund. Prior to joining Caspian, Emmanuel spent 5 years with Maanaveeya Development & Finance Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Oikocredit (a Netherlands-based International Development Finance Co-operative), as Deputy Managing Director, in charge of operations. Prior to this, he worked for 25 years with NABARD across various departments and geographies, his final role as General Manager in Himachal Pradesh.

At Caspian, Vijayalakshmi manages our balance sheet investments, comprising direct investments and fund investments. Her work experience is split between infrastructure financing and impact investing. She started her career with Larsen & Toubro in 2005 and worked in its Public-Private Partnership division, where she was involved in portfolio valuation of infrastructure assets, private equity buyouts, divestments, and bond issuance. Later, in 2015, she moved to Opportunity International Australia in Sydney and worked on its plans to set up a social debt fund for its South East Asia operations.

Mohini, who has been with Caspian since 2006, heads our CSR and social outreach initiatives, working closely with our local partners, conducting due diligence, and monitoring the utilisation of Caspian's contributions. She also manages the human capital function. She is the Chairperson of the Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (IASAP), Hyderabad Chapter.

At Caspian, Madhavee handles the finance and accounts function, including overseeing the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, managing internal and external audits, tax compliance, and other statutory compliance. Prior to Caspian, Madhavee worked with Maanaveeya Development & Finance Private Limited as a Finance & Accounts Executive. Madhavee Latha is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of ICAI, with 5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, auditing, MIS, budgeting, taxation, treasury, and finance operations.

At Caspian, Ria manages the investments of Caspian LeAF. From sourcing to due diligence to closing, she works on all aspects of the Fund's investments and investor reporting under the guidance of the Fund Manager. In her previous role, she was an Investment Consultant at the Agri-Business Incubator of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), where she managed DST, Government of India funds for startup investments. Ria holds an M.Tech in Biotechnology Engineering from KIIT University and an Executive MBA in Applied Finance and Marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. She was a BIRAC fellow at Villgro Innovations Foundation.

Works on portfolio management of the SME Impact Fund including performance analysis, investor reporting, and compliance. Previously worked at Moody’s Investor Services and Visible Alpha. Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance from Mithibai College, Mumbai.

At Caspian, Nagabhushanam manages budgeting and day-to-day accounting tasks, tax compliance, and internal and external audits, including the preparation of periodic financial statements. Prior to Caspian, he served as an Accounts Manager at Saketa Packaging Industries Private Limited for five years. Nagabhushanam is a qualified MBA Finance professional with a decade of extensive experience in the field of accounts and finance. Beyond his professional pursuits, he has a keen interest in playing cricket and reading books.

At Caspian, Junaid works as an investment analyst and is a resource across the various investment pools, working under the guidance of the fund managers. Prior to Caspian, Junaid worked as a Business Development Executive in International Sales, focusing on Indian agri-exports. This role gave him valuable insights into the complexities of global markets and the challenges faced by the agriculture sector. Junaid holds a PGDM in Agribusiness Management (PGDM-ABM). He holds NISM Investment Adviser X-A and X-B certifications, reflecting his knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.

Hari has been with Caspian since our inception in 2004 and has been a steadfast member of the team. Hari oversees office administration and logistics management for the team.

Aditya Pandey is a Senior Manager – Investments at Caspian, where he leads deal sourcing, investment evaluation, and portfolio management across companies where strong business fundamentals meet meaningful social outcomes. He has spent his career backing founders across AgriTech, ClimateTech, HealthTech, and Financial Inclusion. Previously, he was an early team member at Next Bharat Ventures, where he helped shape the firm's investment thesis across underserved markets. Prior to that, he spent around four years at Axilor Ventures evaluating and supporting early-stage tech startups across sectors. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton and singing.
