Clearview Capital is founded by Ayush Vimal and Vedant Bagry with the objective of providing superior risk-adjusted returns to investors over the long term. This is accomplished through a unique portfolio construction process that blends a private equity style fundamental investing approach with special situations. Clearview's investment philosophy is driven from the 20+ years of combined experience of its founders across financial services, primarily in Investment Banking with premiere global financial institutions. Clearview Capital Advisors Private Limited is a SEBI registered Portfolio Management Services Firm (PMS Registration Number: INP000009029).

Investment philosophy

The investment objectives are met by combining Fundamentals and Workout strategies to achieve superior risk adjusted returns. Fundamental investments are good quality businesses available at a reasonable price with triggers for value convergence. A good quality business should have a competitive and sustainable moat, with ROCE above the cost of capital over the competitive advantage period, and management and governance that protect minority shareholder interests. Prices should be reasonable, with absolute value taking priority over relative value, and a margin of safety protects against unknown downsides. Workouts are predictable special situations, such as M&A, open offers and demergers, which are de-linked from the market and have limited downside risk with upside optionality. The firm relies on deep research, discipline and contrarianism, low portfolio churn and a concentrated portfolio. It does not use technical analysis, trading and speculation, short-termism or top-down macro views.

Ayush has more than a decade of experience in the financial services domain across Investment Banking, Taxation and Assurance. In his last role, he was working in the Investment Banking team at Citi where he was advising top global Private Equity funds and large corporates on acquisitions, divestments and IPOs and was rated the top of his batch. He has been involved in advising on deals with a potential value of more than US$20bn across telecom, infrastructure and consumer sectors. Ayush has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and B.Com (Hons) from St. Xaviers' College, Kolkata. He is also a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. Besides investing, Ayush is passionate about reading, writing, swimming and is an ardent follower of Roger Federer.

Vedant Bagry

Vedant has more than a decade of experience in the financial services domain across Investment Banking, Broking and Assurance. In his last role, he was working with J.P. Morgan in their Investment Banking division where he was advising top global Private Equity funds and large corporates on acquisitions, divestments and IPOs and was rated the top of his batch. He has been involved in deals totalling over ~US$12bn across financial services and infrastructure sectors. Vedant has an MBA from IIM Calcutta and B.Com (Hons) from St. Xaviers' College, Kolkata. He is also a CFA Charterholder, Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. Besides investing, Vedant is passionate about reading, travelling, cricket.
