Creativeland Asia

Sajan Raj Kurup is the Founder of Ventureland Asia and Founder & Creative Chairman of Creativeland Asia Group. He founded Creativeland Asia over a decade ago, building it into one of India's largest and most awarded independent agencies. In 2017, he launched Ventureland Asia to extend the Creativeland ecosystem into venture investing, backing creative economy businesses with a combination of capital and creative expertise. He identified a gap between traditional VC herd mentality and the real value-creation potential of brand-led businesses.

Srijib Mallik leads Ventureland Asia as CEO and serves as Chief Operating Officer of Creativeland Asia. A mathematician by training, he joined Creativeland Asia as COO in 2016 before taking on the additional role of heading the Ventureland investment platform. He structured Ventureland's maiden SEBI-registered AIF and has been central to all of the firm's investments. He played a key role in the acquisition of the Rolling Stone India publishing rights in 2021.

Venkat Balasubramanian served as CFO of Creativeland Asia Group and played a pivotal role in structuring Ventureland's maiden venture capital fund alongside CEO Srijib Mallik. He brings over 20 years of experience across creative, media, and cultural industries in over 30 countries, having previously worked with the Smithsonian Institution, Agenda 21 (UN), Universal Forum of Cultures (Barcelona), The Earth Centre (UK), and Wieden+Kennedy.
