Despite being a VC investor, Deepak is first and foremost an entrepreneur. In typical founder spirit, Deepak was one of the pioneers who recognized the vast potential within the consumer sector. And to walk the talk, Deepak didn't hesitate to put skin in the game, quite literally. Bootstrapping, as it is more commonly known, he took the audacious step of putting his home on the line to demonstrate his commitment to his inaugural fund. This catalyzed and fueled the founding of DSG Consumer Partners in 2012. Deepak's investment philosophy stems from his belief in the power of partnership. At DSGCP, he doesn't just invest in companies; he nurtures them as a mentor, coach, and ultimately a champion for the founders he believes in. Before DSGCP, Deepak co-founded and managed the Beacon India Private Equity Fund. Prior to that, Deepak held roles at GEM India, Reuters Venture Capital, Bain & Company and Ernst & Young.

Hari is an accidental VC. Early in his career, he found himself drawn to the thinking of Munger and Buffett, and built his early career in private equity backing capital efficient businesses with strong fundamentals. He never imagined moving to early stage investing, until a growing excitement for the consumer sector led him to a chance meeting with Deepak, and the leap suddenly made sense. He joined DSGCP to run the India office, drawn by the challenge of building a country operation and a belief that instilling capital efficiency from day one, not just at scale, gives a brand the best chance of scaling sustainably. That belief became the Brick By Brick investment philosophy, which Hari helped shape after joining DSGCP in 2019 following 8 years in buyout investing and investment banking. He also leads DSGCP's research partnership with Bain & Company on the Insurgent Brands report, studying what separates brands with strong fundamentals from the rest. His greatest joy at work is helping founders drive their businesses to self sustainability, taking control of destiny without depending on external capital.

As a kid, Sameer moved every 2-3 years across the world, a modern-day nomad resulting in living in 10 countries till date. Sameer joined DSGCP in 2021 after operating a large alcobev business in Asia where he got exposure to M&A, family businesses and all manner of emerging market challenges. He also spent 5 years at Bain in ASEAN advising consumer businesses on strategy, M&A, operational excellence, organization, governance and transformation. He rolls up his sleeves and gets into the details, something most of our companies appreciate (eventually).
