About Eximius Ventures

As a pre-seed stage fund, the firm supports startups in their earliest stages. Let's just say, the firm writes "Cheque Zero". The firm is a Globe to India and India to the Globe team that believes that community is not just a jargon but a place where founders can have a solid network. In 2021, Pearl Agarwal launched Eximius Ventures based on insights gained from conversations with over 1,000 founders through DotReview.

Investment philosophy

The firm is non-FOMO driven. It invests only out of pure conviction, driven by a sectoral thesis and a unique view on the space. The firm invests in what the firm understands before others do. The firm focuses on sectors with large potential, which it calls sector differentiated: Consumer AI, FinAI and Enterprise AI. Beyond capital, the firm offers a global network, mentors, founders and hiring leaders, and strategic guidance. The firm prioritises the founder relationship: "The firm's conversations are not limited to whatsapp reports. The firm prioritizes founder's burnout over cash burnout." The firm's pillars are building for the India to the Globe vision, a well-defined thesis that comes before fleeting FOMO impulses, tailored value-add including fund raise support, and dedicated support so founders can focus on what matters.

Pearl Agarwal

Founder & Managing Partner

Pearl, originally from an entrepreneurial family in Odisha, India, ventured to the US for higher education and earned a management degree from McCombs School of Business (UT Austin). During her studies, she co-founded a finAI startup focusing on trading algorithms. She later worked at UTIMCO ($40B fund of funds) and Merrill Lynch (M&A) before joining GIP, where she managed multibillion-dollar investments across the US and Europe. Returning to India, she founded DotReview to support early-stage founders. In 2021, she launched Eximius Ventures based on insights gained from conversations with over 1,000 founders through DotReview. In addition, Pearl has made 20+ Angel Investments across India & USA.

Preeti Nellore Sampat

Partner

Preeti Nellore Sampat is a Partner at Eximius Ventures (joined 2023), focusing on SaaS and Consumer. She holds a B.E. from BITS Pilani and an MBA from MIT Sloan. She worked in transaction advisory for TMT sectors, joined Flipkart early in its journey, and then launched Infinite Road — a micro-VC fund in the US investing in early-stage Vertical SaaS, Marketplaces, and Consumer companies. She also co-founded a startup in the India-US corridor before joining Eximius.
