Mr. Ishan Thakkar is an astute professional with an MBA in Finance, and over 6 years of expertise in the dynamic equity market. Since joining Fort Capital in 2018, he has been instrumental in steering the pre-investment process and adroitly managing the active investments within our portfolio companies. Ishan’s forte lies in unearthing lucrative opportunities by employing a meticulous bottom-up approach to stock selection. Ishan’s rigorous screening process, tracks management commentary against delivered performance for at least 6-8 quarters before investment. This rigor has led to sustained outperformance against benchmark indices.

Mr. Shah has diversified experience of over 30 years in capital markets, institutional equities, and valuation of different financial products. He has worked in the U.S. for a big four firm where he was responsible for working with banks, private equity and hedge funds for valuation of privately held investments, intangible asset and debt instruments. His previous experiences lie extensively in the Indian institutional equity markets with firms such as HDFC Securities and Haitong India. Mr. Shah is a Chartered Accountant, CFA and holds a MBA degree in Finance.

Mr. Thakkar has over 20 years of diversified experience in fund management and institutional equities. He is one of the most celebrated fund managers in the industry having managed funds at ICICI PRUDENTIAL MF and Anvil Wealth Management. During his entire tenure as a fund manager, he has consistently delivered 5-6% alpha over the benchmark. Mr. Thakkar has also been awarded for his outstanding performance by Mr. S. Naren, the CIO of ICICI Prudential MF. At ICICI PRUDENTIAL MF, where he worked for more than 5 years, he headed the PMS and also worked as a senior fund manager with the mutual fund. He was instrumental in conceiving and launching the PIPE and Contra Funds, which today are the most popular funds amongst investors. At Anvil Wealth Management, he managed PMS, AIF and investment for Norges fund. Norges is one of the world's largest sovereign funds with AUM of $1.7 trillion. Mr. Thakkar’s investment philosophy focuses on acquiring quality businesses at a reasonable price, ensuring capital preservation while seeking alpha generation.

Mr. Ashish Thanvi enjoys 18+ years of strong experience navigating the capital markets with expertise in developing and deploying algorithmic trading strategies for various derivatives across diverse desks, and has showcased proven ability to manage large funds (₹4000 cr / $500 million). Ashish has extensive experience of working with the parent company since 2011, specializing in proprietary trading strategies and risk management. He also possesses a gifted track record of mentorship, having trained over 200 derivatives traders.

More than 15 years of experience in research and investment and advised a large number of Indian businesses across sectors on various capital market transactions. A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Swapnil Shah has built a strong fundamental research team. In his earlier stints, he closely worked with mutual funds and broking firms in various capacities. He is one of the most sought after in media and regularly features on leading business channels along with authored views of various aspects of markets in leading newspapers in India. He has a proven track record of exceptional performance and progressions into varied leadership positions and multiple transitions across functions and businesses.

Mr. Yuvraj A. Thakker has a Masters of Science (Finance) from Bentley University, Boston. As a third generation managing director, he brings the pedigree of financial excellence to the 21st century. Yuvraj brings his expertise in managing large portfolios both fundamentally and with high-frequency algorithmic strategies. His outlook to investments and businesses is necessarily long-term and he believes that wealth is created through perseverance and intellectual discipline. His vision with Fort Capital is to bring a platform to our clients that will allow them to profit from the same strategies, tools, and techniques used by the professional trader.

Mr. Nilesh Dhanani possesses vast experience of over 30 years in the financial services sector. He has made a significant contribution towards our continued success and plays an important role as a part of our Advisory Board.
