Gaurav Sharma joined Investcorp in 2019 and currently serves as the Head of India Investment Business. He has over 28 years of experience in both the US and India, spanning entrepreneurship, private equity, M&A, corporate finance, and investment banking. Previously, Gaurav co-founded Prime Gourmet Private Limited. Before that, he was the Director of Providence Equity Partners’ India office. He also worked as part of the investment banking teams at Deutsche Bank and Wachovia Capital in New York. Gaurav began his career as the Founder and CEO of Trinayana Auto, a manufacturer of auto components in India. His current and past board positions include roles at NuSummit (NSEIT), Canpac Trends, Global Dental Services, Safari, FreshToHome, Zolo Stays, NephroPlus, ASG Eye Hospitals, Intergrow, UFO Moviez, and MediAssist Healthcare. Gaurav holds a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Anshuman joined Investcorp in 2019 following the acquisition of IDFC Alternatives, bringing over 26 years of experience in investing, management consulting, and investment banking. Before joining Investcorp, he served as the Head of Private Equity at IIFL Wealth & Asset Managers, where he managed assets totaling $3 billion. Prior to that, he worked in private equity at BanyanTree, Standard Chartered Private Equity, and Baer Capital. He began his career in management consulting with BCG and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). His current and previous board positions include Canpac, Citykart, Nephroplus, InCred, SK Finance, Miko, Bikaji Foods, and SmartExpress. Anshuman holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Nehru Scholar, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Varun Laul joined Investcorp in 2020, bringing over 23 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, and consumer marketing. Prior to joining Investcorp, he served as a Managing Director at Zodius Capital, focusing on growth-stage investments in technology and technology-enabled sectors. Previously, Varun was a founding member of Providence Equity’s India office in 2007, where he contributed to over $1 billion in investments in the telecom and media sectors. Before that, he worked in investment banking at DSP Merrill Lynch and in sales and marketing at Hindustan Unilever in India. His current and past board positions include roles at NuSummit (NSEIT), Wakefit, XpressBees, Unilog, Hathway Digital, UFO Moviez, OfBusiness, and PepperFry. Varun holds a Master of Business Administration from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and a Bachelor’s degree in Technology (Mechanical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
