MahaPREIT

Mahapreit Alternative Investment Fund (MAIF) is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (IN/AIF2/22-23/1109), registered on July 26, 2022, with a target corpus of ₹500 crore and a green-shoe option of an additional ₹500 crore. The fund is sponsored and managed by Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT), a subsidiary of Maharashtra Prison, Barrack Construction and Development Corporation Limited (MPBCDC), a Government of Maharashtra undertaking. MITCON-Credentia Trusteeship Services Limited acts as the Trustee. MAHAPREIT was established to develop, promote, and implement renewable energy, infrastructure, and technology projects across Maharashtra in alignment with the state government's sustainability and inclusive development agenda. The company operates across ten verticals including renewable energy and electric vehicles, agro-processing and biofuels, software technology parks and data centres, affordable housing and urban planning, women entrepreneurship, ESG and sustainability, energy efficiency, health sciences, emerging technology, and corporate community development. MAIF is designed to channel institutional and private capital into these growth verticals, enabling MAHAPREIT to scale its project pipeline across Maharashtra and beyond.
