About

MCats Trust (officially 'Mcats Trust') is a SEBI-registered Category I Alternative Investment Fund – Venture Capital Fund (Angel Fund) (IN/AIF1/23-24/1476), registered on March 26, 2024. The fund is managed by Marwari Catalysts Ventures Private Limited and is considered Rajasthan's first SEBI-approved CAT 1 Angel Fund. Headquartered in Jodhpur with regional offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi, MCats was established in 2019 by Sushil Sharma with the mission of catalysing startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India. The fund targets a corpus of ₹100 crore for supporting 300 startups. As of early 2026, MCats has evaluated over 9,000 startups, built a portfolio of 100+ early-stage ventures, achieved 11+ exits, created 5,000+ jobs, and maintains 35% women-led startups in its portfolio. The fund is located at CYB5, Cyber Park, Heavy Industrial Area, Jodhpur, Rajasthan 342003. MCats runs the 'Thrive' accelerator programme (now in its 10th edition), a Venture Studio for company-building, and a Co-founder matchmaking platform. Notable portfolio companies include TURMS, Jaipur Watch Company, Hobit, ClimeKare, Insurance Padosi, BankSathi, Sarathi Healthcare, Pratap IVF, and others. Celebrity co-investors include Amit Jain (CarDekho), Virendra Gupta (Dailyhunt), Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Kailash Kher, Kunal Shah (CRED), and Azhar Iqbal (Inshorts).

Investment philosophy

MCats invests at the intersection of innovation and inclusion, backing early-stage founders from smaller towns and cities who are solving real problems with scalable solutions. The investment thesis is sector-agnostic but prioritises areas including Fintech, HealthTech, EdTech, D2C, AgriTech, DefenceTech, CleanTech, PropTech, and Enterprise AI. MCats believes talent exists everywhere, not just in metro cities, and provides mentorship, capital, co-founder matching, and investor access to convert vision into venture.
