Investment philosophy

NilaCap's investment philosophy is built on empowering ambitious SMEs and MSMEs with non-dilutive, flexible, and timely financing to scale with confidence — without giving up equity. The fund recognises that Indian SMEs face three core financing challenges: banks demand excessive security cover (2-3x), credit reassessment cycles don't track business growth in real time, and disbursals take 2-4 months. NilaCap addresses this through flexible repayments aligned to cash flow, data-driven underwriting (advanced analytics for cash flow analysis and sector-specific insights), and a 1:10 investor-to-portfolio-company ratio ensuring deep monitoring and value creation. Investment decisions leverage the team's combined 20+ years of investor-operator experience across healthcare, education, and financial services. The fund invests primarily within its trusted network ('investment within network') to enable efficient screening, monitoring, and collection.
