SWAMIH Investment Fund I is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund established as a government-backed initiative to provide last-mile funding for stalled affordable and middle-income housing projects in India. The fund is managed by SBICAP Ventures Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of SBI Capital Markets Limited. Sponsored by the Government of India, the fund plays a critical role in reviving stressed real estate projects and delivering homes to buyers. It focuses on completing viable projects that are net-worth positive but facing liquidity constraints, thereby unlocking value for homebuyers, developers, and lenders. As one of India’s largest social impact-focused funds in the real estate sector, SWAMIH has been instrumental in restoring confidence in the housing market while supporting economic activity and job creation.
