Sprint is the Brand Name for the Platform operated by Salil Chakrabarty Venture Partners LLP, that is the investment Manager (IM) for Salil Chakrabarty Innovation Fund (SCIF), a Category 1 SEBI Registered Venture Capital Fund (Angel Fund), bearing SEBI Registration Number IN/AIF1/22-23/1102. Founded with the aim to democratise fundraising and expand angel investing to the masses, Sprint believes that everyone should have access to high-growth investment opportunities in startups. Backed by dozens of leading investment firms and financial institutions, Sprint invests alongside investors, demonstrating its conviction in the ideas it showcases.

Investment philosophy

Sprint brings Science into the Art of Angel Investing. Every investment has to fulfil 3 basic criteria. The company should be generating revenues. The investment round should have a reputed Lead Investor and should ideally be a 2nd round of investment. There must be strict due diligence across Legal, Financial, Compliance and Business model. Sprint targets a predictable outcome from its Angel Portfolios through controlled risk and a diversified approach. Through the Angel SIP model, the Investment Manager/General Partner participates in each opportunity alongside investors, and the fund charges carry only after 12% CAGR on the investment. The Angel SIP portfolio is designed to build an Angel Portfolio of 100 companies. Sprint focuses on all stages of companies: Seed/Pre-Series A (30%, target above 15X), Series A (40%, target above 8X), Series B/C (20%, target above 5X) and Series D+ (10%, target above 3X).

He is Co-Founder & CEO of Siply, a Bangalore-based fintech platform serving blue-collar workers with savings and financial services. He holds an MBA from New Hampshire College (2004). He is a director of Salil Chakrabarty Innovation Holdings Private Limited (DIN: 02789297) and is associated with 15 companies across the Siply ecosystem.
