Overview

About

Volvin AIF Trust is a Category III Alternative Investment Fund managed by Volvin Limited, a Ludhiana-based asset management company founded by derivatives specialist Vineet Jainn. Volvin is the creator of India's first Category III AIF focused on a covered call writing strategy — a derivatives-based approach designed to generate monthly income from an equity portfolio while simultaneously reducing downside risk, a concept the firm calls 'Equity Rentals'. The firm's flagship fund, the Volvin Growth Fund – Active Rabbit, has achieved a Sharpe Ratio exceeding 4.2, placing it among top-performing funds on a risk-adjusted basis. Volvin's product suite includes Active Rabbit (covered call, monthly returns), Rabbit Returns (monthly/quarterly payout variant), Consistent Tortoise (capital preservation), and Momentum Leopard (high-beta leverage). The firm operates from its office in Canal Colony, Ludhiana, Punjab, and is regulated by SEBI as a Category III AIF. With its CIO having guided over 213,000 people on covered call strategy, Volvin emphasises investor education as a core mission.

Investment philosophy

Volvin follows a derivatives-first investment philosophy centred on covered call writing — using options to generate consistent monthly income (Equity Rentals) from an equity portfolio while reducing risk, rather than speculating. The firm's core thesis is that derivatives, typically associated with speculation, can be deployed defensively to bridge the gap between debt and equity: offering returns comparable to equity with significantly lower volatility. Risk-adjusted performance (Sharpe Ratio) is the primary yardstick.
