SEBI-encouraged funds — venture capital, SME, social-impact and infrastructure. Close-ended, generally unleveraged.
WEH Ventures is a Mumbai-based high-conviction, early-stage venture capital fund founded by Deepak Gupta that backs category-creating founders at pre-seed and seed stages. The firm was established in 2017 with the registration of WEH Ventures Fund I (IN/AIF1/16-17/0298), a SEBI Category I Angel Fund, making it one of India's early institutionalised angel funds. All three WEH funds are managed by WEH Venture Partners LLP, headquartered at WeWork Raheja Platinum, Marol, Andheri East, Mumbai. The fund's thesis centres on 'category creators' — founders who build entirely new markets rather than competing in existing ones. WEH's portfolio has demonstrated consistent outperformance: Fund II achieved a 20% net IRR versus a CRISIL-rated median of 11.3%, and 50% of portfolio companies have raised follow-on rounds from top-tier VCs. Notable investments include Jar (micro-investing, backed by Tiger Global), smallcase (thematic investing, backed by PeakXV), MasterChow (Asian food, backed by Anicut and Surge), and Apps for Bharat (spiritual content, backed by Elevation). As of 2025, the portfolio has cumulatively raised $320 million.
Deepak Gupta
Partner & Co-Founder
The transformation optimist who's been around long enough to type emails on monochrome screens. Can be found trying to figure out what India needs next. Loves spotting "unlabeled" founders with inchoate ideas and helping them come to fruition. Gets kicks from deals and shaping things for the fund- from capital allocation to team development.
Rohit Krishna
Partner & Compliance Officer
Started with corporate bonds at Moody's, tried listed equity at Spark Capital, then fell hard for early-stage investing in 2015. Spends way too much time playing with new consumer products - it's how he gets better at dreaming alongside founders. Always up for beer at Toit or coffee at Paper & Pie. Believes in-person meetings > phone calls > Zoom.

Curious about how things work, how they are built, and most importantly how money is exponentially compounded. A mathematics grad with a single-minded focus on understanding investing across company life cycles, from early-stage to growth and beyond. Draws on a background spanning Private Equity and Public Markets to analyze investments across different stages. Spends weekends at cafes meeting founders or hunting for public market compounders. Recharges by catching a film as an avid movie buff or diving into soulful games.
