Sandeep Farias

Sandeep Farias is Founder and Managing Partner at Elevar and a founding team member at EPIC World. He founded Elevar in 2008, being passionate about working with early-stage companies that foster economic development for low income communities – by delivering affordable and quality essential services like MSME finance, education, healthcare and agricultural services. Sandeep leads the firm's investment strategy, and engages with entrepreneurs in India and Latin America to think through critical inflection points in their entrepreneurial journeys. Sandeep has over 25 years of work experience in diverse areas including emerging markets investing, governance and regulation, organizational design, transactions and structuring and law; and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers in impact investing. He has played a leadership role in the Indian microfinance sector's scale and transformation over a decade, as the sector moved from the non profit space to formal banking. He also set up and established Unitus in India in 2004.
Johanna Posada

Johanna is Founder and Managing Partner at Elevar and a founding team member at EPIC World. She leads the firm's investing strategy and priorities in Latin America, and the firm's investing team that is based in Mexico City. Her leadership role in Latin America includes sourcing and underwriting of new investment opportunities, portfolio management, partnering with entrepreneurs to achieve scale, while actively supporting the firm's India investing team. She has played a global role in building the finance and compliance processes at Elevar. Johanna has over 20 years of work experience that includes emerging markets investing experience, macroeconomics, microfinance and financial services, corporate finance and economics. She founded Elevar in 2008 and has partnered with, and invested in, companies which are today some of the biggest providers of financial services, MSME oriented services and education to disconnected communities in India and Latin America. Johanna graduated from the ITAM (Mexico City) in Economics and started her career in 1997. She worked as an Economist with the Central Bank of Mexico. Johanna received her MBA from Stanford University in 2002.
Jyotsna Krishnan

Jyotsna is Managing Partner at Elevar and a founding team member at EPIC World. She leads the firm's investing strategy and priorities in India, along with driving the overall fund performance globally. While building Elevar's investing practice in India, she has closely partnered with entrepreneurs building transformational business models in sectors such as agriculture, MSME services, affordable education and quality healthcare. Jyotsna's capability to build core operational systems that scale impact and her ability to form deep bonds with underserved customers, have helped define and shape the Elevar Method of investing. Jyotsna has ~20 years of work experience spanning banking, retail financial services, strategy, business finance, sales and operations, business intelligence, training and development, in addition to working with entrepreneurs to achieve scale. Prior to Elevar, she was at HSBC and worked directly with the bank's India leadership in multiple roles. Jyotsna is a Commerce graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and completed her MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai.

Shobha Venkataraman

Shobha is Partner at Elevar and leads the firm's finance (funds, corporate and strategic) and fund administration, mid and back office operations, compliance and reporting, working closely with the firm's external audit, tax and legal advisors. She also provides critical support on the firm's organizational development and key systems / processes. Shobha has over 15 years of experience in private equity fund administration. She began her career at Toucan Capital, a Washington-DC based venture capital fund. At Toucan, she gained experience in fund accounting and compliance management of Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC) licensed under the US-SBA run investment program. Thereafter, she moved to PEF Services, a New York City based provider of outsourced fund administration services. Prior to joining Elevar, Shobha spent over five years at Treeline Business Solutions, an India-based KPO, managing their private equity services vertical. Shobha graduated from Drexel University with an MBA and has a Masters in Commerce from the University of Madras.
Vipul Rawal

Vipul is Partner at Elevar and a founding team member at EPIC World. He is responsible for Elevar's efforts in India and Latin America on customer data and insights, portfolio analytics, tracking fund performance, and market intelligence. Vipul brings 16+ years of experience spanning agri commodity trading, emerging markets investing and investment banking. Having grown up in a traditional family business embedded in the agri supply chain, Vipul brings invaluable customer perspective to the table. He has been intrinsically involved with the journeys of Elevar's portfolio companies in India and is popular amongst entrepreneurs for 'the Vipul spreadsheets'. Prior to Elevar, Vipul worked with Tholons Capital where he was managing a small fund put together by the founders and also assisted some of the private equity clients of Tholons with their investments. Prior to Tholons, he worked with Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division where he focused on the Financial Institutions Group. Vipul has an MBA in Finance and Marketing and a B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics and Electronics.

Amie is Partner at Elevar and leads the firm's organizational and operating functions. Her leadership responsibilities include organizational development, talent, strategy, business development and systems / processes. She also manages and cultivates Elevar's global partnerships including LP and co-investor relations. Amie has over 20 years of experience working in a variety of organizations, with a focus on emerging market investing. Prior to Elevar, she was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs Asset Management which she joined through the acquisition of Imprint Capital. Amie focused on the firm's Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and Impact Investing capabilities within the emerging markets. Prior to Imprint she was with the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF) where she concentrated her efforts on early to growth stage investments. Amie holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BS in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
